Mohammad Ali Akhtar

Associate

Muhammad Ali Akhtar joined the firm in 2020. He obtained his formative education from Karachi Grammar School, thereafter graduating with an LLB (Hons.) degree from the University of London in 2018. In 2020 he was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn after completing the Bar Professional Training Course.

Prior to joining the Firm, in 2018-2019, Muhammad Ali was a Law Clerk to a Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Muhammad Ali frequently advises and represents clients with regard to disputes, banking law, white-collar crime, rent matters, regulatory issues, company law rights, taxes and other levies, competition law, international trade, engineering and construction contracts, labour and public procurement.

Muhammad Ali is currently representing a leading car manufacturer before the Customs Tribunal challenging a demand amounting to tens of millions of rupees. He has also played an active role in successfully representing the Government in litigation challenging the vires of the Higher Education Commission Ordinance, 2021. Moreover, he is currently representing a premier Bank in a rental dispute pertaining to property worth millions of rupees.
