Syed Mustafa Ali is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan. He read law at the University of London (2007) and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn (2008) after completing the Bar Vocational Course from the Inns of Court School of Law. He joined the firm in 2010 and has been a Partner since 2015.
He advises and represents clients before the High Courts in a range of constitutional, banking, commercial and employment matters for clients including MCB Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan, Allied Bank, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, Central Depository Company.
He has also worked closely with the Senior Partner of the Firm, Mr. Khalid Anwer, on a range of important and complex constitutional and commercial cases before the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the High Courts.
Syed Mustafa Ali has been actively advising clients on matters relating to Employment. He successfully represented the National Bank of Pakistan before the High Court of Sindh in matters brought against by the Bank by various trade unions formed by Bank’s employees. He is currently also representing, among others, Mashreq Bank PSC, National Bank of Pakistan, MCB Bank Limited, Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Trust and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. in Suits filed against them in the High Court of Sindh by their Employees. He recently won an important case in the Islamabad High Court which had been filed against the State Bank of Pakistan by former employees.
Syed Mustafa Ali also has an expertise in Banking Suits and execution of money decrees passed in such Banking Suits. In the current year, at least four Banking suits, in which he appeared, were disposed of enabling the banks to recover large sums of money. Furthermore, due to his recent efforts, MCB Bank Limited was able to recover Billions of Rupees and bring contentious litigation to an end.
